The appetizers and salads have the finest ingredients. Homemade dressings top fresh greens on the salads.

You have several choices for your main entree. Steaks cooked to order and some of the finest seafood specialties in Myrtle Beach.

Salt Creek Cafe

The Salt Creek Cafe is located in Murrells Inlet, SC, about 7 miles south of Myrtle Beach city limits. My experience here was excellent. I personally had the salmon sandwich with broccoli salad.

The menu contains sandwiches, salads, burgers, as well as higher end dishes such as steaks and seafood. There are several specialty house dishes as well as daily specials. There is even a sushi bar. I also appreciated the fact that the bar and the restaurant were separated by a reasonable partition.

I would classify this restaurant as high end casual. You would not feel uncomfortable in a suit, but I also felt fine in the early afternoon wearing shorts and t-shirt. I was greeted warmly, served promptly, and treated respectfully. The atmosphere was a pleasant and relaxing beach and aquarium theme. However, it was classy, not overdone "touristy" type decor. The noise level was quiet and I'm guess it doesn't go above moderate.

There is a private room available for parties and the room is closed off not to disturb other restaurant patrons.

I give the restaurant an overall score of 9. The only thing keeping them from a 10 would be a better view. It wasn't unpleasant by any means. There are trees and bushes and a nice courtyard area to see. However, out front is Highway 17 and out back is a gravel parking lot. They had no choice but to hide them with landscaping.
